KITE School | KITE line... We need to ponder upon this.

The new year has begun with a rather depressed note in Mumbai. We are getting shockingly disturbing news of suicides by students every alternate day. What is more heartbreaking is that some of them were really of tender age. This reflects the undue stress on young children to ‘perform’. Many a time parents and the peer group both are at fault. Our education system is also to be blamed.

Every child cannot be the best in all fields. When parents expect this, they put the damaging pressure on the child’s mind. One must note that every child is unique with certain distinctive qualities and talent. We should try to discover that talent and let the child explore his/her path. We should not predetermine the child’s career and put a label on his/her future. We should try to provide the best possible learning and growing environment and then let the child blossom and show his/her talent.
Some parents think that small children don’t get stressed. Well, it’s not true. Even small children have their own anxieties, frustrations, tensions and stress. I think it is of paramount importance to have communication with the child. Never neglect or ignore or belittle your child’s frustration/anxiety. Talk it out. With care, concern and caution. Never break the communication. Never let isolation creep between you and your child.

Early years of your child are the most precious as these make the foundation on which a future will be built! Take care.

KITE School | Christmas celebration

Just before the Christmas vacations begin, we gather in party dresses and a gala Christmas celebration is set to entrall the whole atmosphere! This is collage of KITE School on this day. Isn't it cute?

These occassions are specially important to hone social skills in kids. Wishing and greeting each other are part of the celebration. Then each child receives a gift from Santa Claus. Joy of giving!

It was a wonderful day which filled the space with joyous energy. KITE School will now open on 4th January, 2010.

Wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year!

Waiting for Diwali Celebration!

In spite of the second wave of rains and the shower of political brouhaha, the mood all around is beaming with joyous jubilations and forthcoming Diwali vacations!

KITE School will celebrate Diwali on this Friday,9th October. Besides other fun-activities we’ll also show the children a demo on ‘Fire Safety’. Afterwards a hand out of safety tips will be handed over to every child. Diwali-fireworks are part of celebrations but we all should follow these safety measures.

All the children will come to KITE School in festive dress. This is the last working day before Diwali vacations and KITE school will re-open on 3rd November, 2009.

Happy celebrations!

Navratri Celebration -- bountiful exhilaration!

Festivities are in full swing. KITE School celebrated Navratri with the spirit and vibrancy of pure joy. Small children in colourful dresses were energising the whole surrounding. These social events play an important role in developing the child's inner attributes--behavioral, temperamental, emotional and mental--that characterize a unique individual.

Fruit Salad Day! Enjoy.

KITE School had its “Fruit Salad Day” for Playgroup and Nursery children. Every child brought in one fruit. Teachers gathered the children and showed them how the fruits should be washed and then peeled and finally cut for salad. Children were watching the process with keen interest. Finally the salad was enjoyed by the children.
Of course, they learnt a few things with this activity. As an educator it was another satisfying event in our school. You may enjoy few snaps.
